AFTER SCHOOL ART
Ages:8 -14 years
DRAWING FUNDAMENTALS
Explore line, pattern, texture, shape, light, and space, and movement using various mediums. Students will be introduced to drawing basics with a variety of techniques. An essential elementary course on learning how to draw for 7-14 year olds who have interests in becoming professional visual artists.
ADVANCED DRAWING AND PAINTING
(Prerequisite: Drawing Fundamentals)
Designed for those with previous training. Students will have the freedom to use a medium of their choice. The course will include an occasional visit to the art gallery and take part in critique and drawing exercises.
CARTOON ART
(Prerequisite: Drawing Fundamentals)
Make your own drawings come to life through a variety of mediums. Learn the techniques of comic strips, caricatures, colorful drawings, and animation.
PORTRAITURE
(Prerequisite: Drawing Fundamentals)
Drawing the human figure using charcoal, chalk pastel, and ink. Emphasizes gesture, line, texture, and expressiveness.
PHOTOGRAPHY ARTS/MIXED MEDIA
Learn how photography can be used alongside other media and techniques like painting, printing, dying, building, and assembling to create original art pieces. Concurrently, gaining skills on how to take photographs, as well as an appreciation of how photography has grown into a fun and creative art form.
STUDIO TO STAGE
Students will gain hands-on learning and experience of set/costume and prop design. Students will gain knowledge on real life production scenarios through integration with the music and dance departments.
FASHION ARTS
(Prerequisite: Drawing Fundamentals)
A creative process to increase technical skills in the areas of sketching, design concepts, and color theory to develop a unique personal style.
CREATIVE CRAFTS
Arts and crafts is an introduction course for students who have artistic interests and wish to study various crafts using everyday household items.
SCULPTURE
(Prerequisite: Drawing Fundamentals)
This course will introduce children to the wonderful world of sculpture. Varied and exciting projects in hand-building including, animals, sculpture, containers, and tiles.
MEMOIR MAGIC
For those who can’t decide whether to take writing or visual arts. Here’s a course where you can develop both. Explore, experiment, discover the creative you. We will develop a personal journal filled with the events and inspiring workshop. We will collect, record and give voice events and images through creative writing and drawing exercises. No previous experience is necessary. Get ready to express yourself! There is a wonderful satisfaction in creating your own journal to write in!
